150th anniversary of the first railway line in Chojnice
On November 15, 1871 at 10:07 am, the first passenger train arrived in Chojnice from the side of Piła (in the Kingdom of Prussia – Schneidemühl). This date marks the important fact of connecting our city with the railway network of Europe. The commissioned line was part of a larger project to connect Piła and Tczew. It shortened the already existing railway line Berlin – Królewiec via Bydgoszcz. Later built and attached lines made Chojnice an important railway junction with the following lines: Szczecin – Runowo – Chojnice – Działdowo and further to Warsaw, Chojnice – Nakło on the Noteć river and further towards Ole¶nica and the more local line Chojnice – Ko¶cierzyna with a branch to Bytów. However, this first line, belonging to the legendary for railway enthusiasts – the Royal Eastern Railway (Preußische Ostbahn) – had the highest rank. This route was used by Berlin – Królewiec and Paris – St. Petersburg and it was possible to get on such a train in Chojnice.
In order to commemorate this anniversary, significant for the city and its inhabitants, the SP2KFQ club in Chojnice launches the HF150KCH special event station in November and issues an occasional diploma. The diploma is awarded for contacts with the stations of SP2KFQ club members, the club station and special stations. Communication with the HF150KCH special station for SP and EU stations is obligatory.
To receive the award, SP stations must score 150 points, EU stations 100 points, and DX stations 50 points. Points will be awarded from November 1 to November 30, 2021. Stations award points according to the following key:
HF150KCH – 50 points
SP2KFQ, SP2ALT, SP2CM, SP2GK, SP2GUC, SP2LQP, SP2RTA, SP2STR, SQ2CDP, SQ2DYF, SQ2ICX, SQ2PHK, SP9GCZ – 25 points
From the same station on the band, you can get points again by repeating QSO with a different emission (CW, SSB, DIGI – counted only once, regardless of the type of digital transmission). In each band, emissions are counted separately. For example: a station operating in the 80m and 40m band can receive points a total of six times from one organizer's station.
ATTENTION! Two „JOKER” stations will operate, awarding 50 points each, but only once(!): SP2SGQ (lives in the building of the first railway station in Chojnice) and 3Z150PO (PO – Preußische Ostbahn). As it is with jokers – there are not many of them in the deck of cards and therefore they rarely come across.
The diploma will be issued electronically and is free of charge, downloadable from the website http://award.sp2kfq.pl QSL via PZK bureau OT09 to SP2KFQ.
